America's greenest  airlines

Burning less fuel is better for the environment, and it also increases the Airline's profit. An airline can make more money if it improves its technology that burns less fuel. It would also reduce the damage of the environment. Gases insulate the planet and could lead to big changed in earth's climate. It would be awesome if we can use fuel efficiently. We can save money and keep the earth green; we also save natural resources. It takes years for fuel to form; it's considered scare. With that being said, fuel companies would not be happy. They would be losing profit because they would be selling less fuel. The might try to rise the prices or do something in order to increase their profit.

  1. While an airline would obviously increase profit by using less fuel, would the increase in profit outweigh the cost of working on the technology that allows them to do so? There is definitely a reason why companies don't spend money on those types of technological endeavors, and I'm pretty sure cost is definitely one of them. The problem doesn't come from them not caring about the environment, but instead from the money it would cost the company to research new technologies that are more eco-friendly.

  2. I would have to say that, at the time, the costs of converting to more eco-friendly resources do not outweigh the benefits for the airline companies. Such a project would certainly cost billions of dollars, which is possible, but not by any means very reasonable for even the most successful airlines. For now, small steps should be taken instead of making a single mass-movement. The environment is not going to be saved overnight, and these changes cannot be made in such a manner either. The focus is clearly the future, so making small strides will be just as good, and more cost-efficient

  3. This would have to be considered as far as long term effects because this would take a long time for airlines to break even on this. The technology has to be expensive. There is no benefit as far as I can see in short terms. Saving the environment is very important but right now I do not believe that is practical at the moment, especially because in the economy there is not an overabundance of money.

  4. With airlines being the fastest mode of long distance transportation there is, it would be incredibly beneficial to come up with a fuel that emits lower levels of pollution into the Earth's atmosphere. I also don't think that fuel companies would be that disappointed because they could just increase the price of the gas to make up for the money that they normally wouldn't get.

  5. It is a good investment idea. However that good idea is for a start up not the airlines. A separate company finding an alternative to regular fuel would make economic sense for both companies.

  6. I agree with you guys about the cost of the technology. Companies always think about the short time benefits or they just don't care about the environment at all. They will be dead before this environment collapses. I do hope that they will think about it sometimes though.

  7. I agree with David's statement. While it would obviously be great if more companies started thinking green, the fact of the matter is that green tech is more expensive than more conventional options. These businesses don't want to shell out more money that won't benefit them in the foreseeable future. When eco-friendly fuel and technology becomes more readily available, we will see more companies making the switch.

  8. I agree with what David and Gabe, but I know that a lot of environmentally-friendly ends up paying its self off in a couple of years, some less time and some more, but in the long run it helps make you money because you end up saving more money than you put out for it, so I think if you have the means and money to go more eco-friendly than you should because it will end up being beneficial overall. With that being said though a business should take steps to become more eco-friendly one by one because since it is costly doing it all in one big leap could really hurt.
